About Us

Together with business associates, agency and government representatives it was agreed that a void existed in the region for a timely, concise delivery method for information about BRAC (Base Realignment And Closure) and its impact on small and mid-sized companies, government agencies and the residential community. Many ideas were discussed and several exciting initiatives were talked about. There were some challenges in identifying the method of delivery, a name, and the resources needed to make what was to become the innovative BRACWatch.com newsletter possible. In order to offer some of the more exciting and innovative delivery technologies available and make future functionalities a reality, it was determined that a website would be needed to support the newsletter. The supporting website carries the same BRACWatch.com name.

Access to the BRACWatch.com website and monthly delivery of the BRACWatch.com e-Newsletter will be free of charge. Periodic special news and announcements will also be included. BRACWatch.com's objective will be to serve the small and mid-size businesses in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Useful information of interest to the residential and government sectors will also be included. The e-Newsletter will be created and delivered via high-speed HTML email and look like some of the nicer e-Newsletters you may have already seen.

We will be using only a double opt-in mailing list which means our E-Newsletter members must specifically sign up for and then respond to a confirming email before our system activates their email address. Thus, the "double opt-in" nature of the list. This will ensure full compliance and with all email laws and guarantee a higher quality delivery. Our policy can be seen here. The founding sponsor of  BRACWatch is a member of the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email.

The content will be about BRAC, its impact to businesses and the community. The BRAC content will account for 70-90% of the newsletter and website. We will occasionally include information on relocation services, about the states and counties in the region BRACWatch.com serves and where to find goods & services for the benefit our present and new incoming neighbors and of course local businesses.

Content will be brief and fast reading and modeled after Professional Book Summaries. Information will include as often as possible, URLs, phone numbers and email addresses to guide the readers to further information if desired ensuring BRACWatch.com is fast reading yet complete.

BRACWatch.com will make use of a six to twelve member Advisory Board to make certain the most relevant and timely information is communicated and to assist us in ensuring the highest quality of this free community service.

BRACWatch.com will be supported initially by founding sponsors and then additional sponsors as they are identified. Links to our site are encouraged and editorial content or comment is welcome and can be sent to: editor@BRACWatch.com.

Thank you and we hope you will continue to enjoy BRACWatch.com!
